Designer Bio

Gracie comes from a creative family, and knew she wanted to pursue a career in the arts. She takes a lot of inspiration from music, as well as from her favorite stylist, Veneda Carter. Throughout high school she enjoyed upcycling and following fashion trends, but had no experience sewing. Since joining the program in 2021, she has cultivated a special appreciation for fashion and the apparel industry, especially after learning firsthand about the effort that goes into making garments.

Designer Statement

My collection, “Cutting Edge,” is inspired by futuristic fashion. I’m drawn to an innovative aesthetic, and aim to channel this through the colors, silhouettes, and fabrics selected for the line. I’ve taken a liking to both streetwear and high fashion, and my goal was to showcase the two in one.
